<PLEASE NOTE>
The shape of each tatami mat may not be perfectly square.
The colour of the tatami may appear slightly different from photos.
Natural fading, small gaps, and fraying are normal characteristics and are not considered defects.
To prevent accidents, do not run or jump on the tatami mats.
It is strongly recommended not to leave a futon or mattress on the tatami for extended periods, as both need regular ventilation to stay dry and in good condition.
<JOINING TATAMI MATS>
You can connect multiple tatami mats to create a larger area.
Turn the mats over and you will find several holes on the underside. Insert the connecting joints into these holes to secure the mats together. For a more stable connection, we recommend using two joints per side.
<BEFORE USING>
This tatami mat has been specially coated with natural substances to help protect it from color fading, sun damage, bacteria, mites, and mold.
However, some of the coating may not have been fully absorbed into the mat. Please wipe or clean the tatami mat before use, as any remaining coating may transfer onto or stain your clothing.
<CLEANING & CARE>
Do not use a wet cloth, as moisture can cause mold and discolouration and may change the colour of tatami.
Wipe gently twice. Do not rub hard, as this may remove the protective coating.
If liquid is spilled, absorb it immediately with paper towels or tissue. Avoid wiping with a cloth.
Keep the surface clean and dry, as dirt and moisture can attract mites and mold.
Before storing, stand the tatami mats upright and let them dry in the shade for about two hours.
Store in a place away from high heat and humidity.
<If YOU NOTICE ANY FRAYING>
Igusa rush is a natural material and is more delicate than synthetic fibres.
As a result, some strands may break during production, or small frays may appear during use.
If this happens, please do not pull them out—simply trim them at the base with scissors or nail clippers.
This is a natural characteristic of the material and not a defect, so please feel assured when using the product.
